AYUS has been successfully implementing various projects that have address the fundamental issues of the government education system at the grassroots. The problems we have identified and to an extent resolved through our interventions include:

• Increasing enrollment rates as well as issue of retention
• Gender disparity in education, yet another perplexing concern in India
• The quality of learning in government schools, and lack of basic infrastructure and learning material
• Unavailability of safe drinking water and sanitation facilities
• Shortage of teachers and dearth of employment opportunities
